Model Aviation promotes the hobby/sport of flying models and the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) through the dissemination of scientific, technical and general information.

Model Aviation covers the full spectrum of model aircraft—including Radio Control, Free Flight and Control Line aeromodeling with monthly columns, features, technical and “how-to” articles. Reader demographics are used to determine the contents of each issue. Therefore, Radio Control activities are emphasized, but all aspects of the hobby are covered. More than 96% of the AMA membership subscribes to Model Aviation. Most individuals who do not subscribe are members of families who receive the magazine.

Model Aviation has just about two times as many subscribers as any other modeling magazine. Although other magazines depend on newsstand sales, Model Aviation is delivered directly to the homes of more than 96% of our readers every month. Model Aviation’s circulation has grown steadily since the magazine’s founding in 1975, with an average circulation of over 160,000.

In December, 2007, the Academy of Model Aeronautics will print the premier issue of a new quarterly magazine just for park flyer enthusiasts, Park Pilot.

Edited by well-known and respected industry expert and seasoned editor, Jeff Troy, Park Pilot magazine will be a glossy, all-color quarterly magazine averaging 72 pages per issue. As the cover notes, Park Pilot is “the magazine that inspires, informs and instructs small-field and indoor aviators.” The magazine will be a benefit of membership and will highlight how AMA can assist park fliers and address their needs.

As a potential Park Pilot advertiser, you now have an opportunity to expand your reach and extend your brand through AMA in a new manner never before offered by the Academy. I plan to have an advertising Rate Card from AMA by mid September. Also available will be an electronic mock-up of the first issue, complete with cover, Table of Contents, suggested articles and columns, and potential locations to advertise your great park flyer products.
